Cassin's Hawk-eagles in Kenya
The Cassin's Hawk-eagle (Aquila africana) is a very scarce and overlooked species in Kenya. There are only four confirmed records and our KBOPT team has been fortunate to have contributed to two of them. It is our aspiration to launch a study focused on mapping their distribution in the country and improving our understanding of their ecology. Below is a link to an article published in SWARA magazine detailing the most recent sighting by Nick Trent and a PDF download of a short communication detailing Shiv Kapila's sighting from 2013. During the most recent sighting Nick Trent was able to capture the video and spectacular images showcased on this page.
